Equine First Aid Kit

One of the most important items that you need in your barn and/or your horse trailer is your equine first aid kid. We have compiled a list of equine first aid must-haves, many of which THS stocks.

First and foremost, have all of your veterinarian’s contact information easily available. Also have in your kit:

-A digital thermometer

-Disinfecting scrub (Betadine/Nolvasan)

-Drawing salved (Eposm Salt Poultice/Icthammol)

-Liniment

-Poulitce (Uptite/Anthiplogistine)

-Sheet Cotton

-Cohesive Wrap (Co-flex)

-Thrust treatment (Kopertox/Thrush Buster)

-Fungicide (Eqyss Micro Tek/MTG)

-Wound dressing (FuraZone/Tri-Care)

-A dosing syringe

-Needles and syringes (per your veterinarian’s instructions)

-Saline solution

-Bandage scissors

-Vinyl gloves

-A twitch

-Nonstick gauze pads

-Rubbing alcohol

-A hoofpick

-Duct tape

-Large sized diapers

-Kling wrap
