How to be a good customer for you Farrier
1) Have a horse with good ground manners.
2) Have a place to trim and shoe that is safe, clean and well lit.
3) Communicate with your farrier, voice your questions and concerns with him, such as a hot nail or quarter crack, etc.
4) Keep your appointment!! This situation goes for both customer and shoer. Let each other know as soon as possible if there will be a change in time, or if you are adding horses to the appointment.
5) Compensate your shoer on time and in full.
6) It never hurts to bring a snack for the person that shoes and trims your horse!!! You bribe your horse with treats, why not the farrier!!!
Your farrier is one of the most important people when it comes to your horse. Remember “No Foot, No Horse". Having a good relationship with your farrier is a wonderful thing!!
Happy Riding
